The Lord has blessed Oakland Baptist Church tremendously in 2013.  We have seen 20 people come to a relationship with Jesus and follow that decision up with Believers Baptism.  In addition to the 20 new converts we have seen an additional 28 people join the church.  I have always had a ministry goal of seeing 52 people per year join our church. As I write this article we have 5 Sundays remaining in 2013, so hopefully the Lord will send us 4 more folks to join our church!

Christmas is awesome; Christmas hustle and bustle, not so much!  Don’t confuse the real meaning of Christmas with all the confusion and chaos that we add to this most important holiday. God has a strong desire to spend eternity with us, thus allowing Christ Jesus to be brought into this world.  All the Christmas shopping, parties, gift exchanges, cards and making sure everyone has been checked off your shopping list can be a bit overwhelming; al the while God just wanting us to remember that He loves us so much He sent Jesus to us.  Let’s make sure we keep Christmas in perspective.  All the hustle and bustle will eventually take care of itself.
